NIST HIGH-RISE FIRE STUDY
Posted On: Apr 12, 2013

High-rise building fires are a matter of life and death. And as local governments and municipalities struggle with public safety budgets, a new study led by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) shows that communities considering cutting fire fighter crew sizes need to take a second look. The link http://www.fireandemsdata.com/ provides scientific data linked to crew size while conducting high-rise fire operations. With the Green Bay metropolitan area growing, more high-rise structures will follow. This is especially prevelant with the City of Green Bays purchase of the former Clarion Hotel with the intent to control air space rights. Take the time to examine the study and consider fire operations in high-rise buildings. Stay safe!
