Hello 141 members,

This has been a very interesting month for all of us.  First of all I stopped in by Dave Flick’s house to chat.  He has had a very positive attitude and is doing well.  He stated that his challenge for now is to try and get a sock on his foot with one hand (not as easy as you think try it, oh and you can only bend one leg).  Dave’s wife Kay is been a big help for him she’s a saint.  Feel free to call, stop by, or write Dave he would love to hear from you.

We had a great experience at the legislative conference in Washington D.C.  Both Rich Gee and I went on behalf of Local 141; Lenny Orlando went as a PFFW Representative.  We heard from governors, congress members, senators, cabinet members, and Vice President Joe Biden.  We also learned about the stimulus funds given to Wisconsin, We formulated a letter and sent it to governor Jim Doyle requesting funds for the staffing of ladder 5.  I will have copies available at the union meeting if you would like to read the letter.

There were a series of meetings this week with Allouez, De Pere, and Ashwaubenon.  I will be holding teleconference meetings in regards to there progress.  I will also be talking about what the next step for the unions will be at the union meeting.

The turn out at the union meetings has been very good the last few months lets keep it up.
